We address the problems of iron oxide buildup and microbiologic infection inside the HVAC water loop that result in a biofilm that constricts water flow. Biofilm develops because bacterial cells, once attached, secrete a polysaccharide known as glycocalyx (hydrated polymeric slimy matrices). The glycocalyx enables each bacterium to encapsulate itself on the surface; biofilm forms as these organisms accumulate.
By ensuring the elimination of microbiologic organisms and filtering out the resulting sludge along with iron oxide, we promote optimal water flow. This translates to reduced service calls for heat exchanger clogs and efficient heat transfer.
