The problem: The building had been vacant for many years. QMS was contacted and requested to provide all of the HVAC water-treatment equipment due to significant water issues.

The solution: The QMS HydroPlex unit was installed on the 1000-ton cooling tower and immediately started filtering out debris. The ionizer eliminated all bacteria and the water is now bacteria free and crystal clear in the tower. The QMS HydroPlex CL was installed on the hot/chilled loop. The first day in service, the QMS HydroPlex CL unit filter clogged with heavy debris and had to be cleaned and/or replaced for several days. The loop was also heavily contaminated with bacteria. Within a few days, the ionizer was doing its job and eliminated all bacteria in the loop. The water is now bacteria free and crystal clear in the loop.
