NASA
NASA, in Cleveland, converted several of their no-longer-used office buildings into multi-use facilities including hotels, offices, retail, and apartments. Much, but not all, of the plumbing was replaced.
The problem: Most of the pre-existing plumbing had been left dormant for many years, and was highly contaminated with bacteria, rust, and other debris. The water source heat pumps were so contaminated, they could not be used. The new owners and contractors did not want to drain the piping because it had hundreds of gallons of glycol in it.
The solution: QMS was contacted to address their concerns. The QMS system was installed and within a few days, the water was free and clear of contamination. The water source heat pumps were also cleaned out and the glycol was not affected. The QMS units were permanently installed to keep the system clean and bacteria free.
